When it comes to rough stock equipment, experience matters. In this video, World Champion bull rider JB Mauney explains why he chose Red River Arenas bucking chutes, the features he likes about the design, and what he has witnessed while using Red River equipment with rough stock.
Red River Arenas' BC200 Bucking Chute is a professional-grade rough stock chute designed for bull riding, bareback riding, and saddle bronc. Built with the cowboy, livestock, and stock contractor in mind, the BC200 combines substantial structural steel construction with features designed for strength, smooth operation, livestock handling, rider preparation, and years of use.
At approximately 2,080 lbs., the BC200 is one of the heaviest bucking chutes on the market. Its construction includes heavy structural steel tubing, Schedule 40 pipe, heavy steel plate, and 2-1/8" x 4-1/4" flat oval steel tubing throughout the gates. Much of the primary structural tubing features approximately 3/16" wall thickness, including structural members as large as 3" x 3".
The BC200 gates incorporate large 2-1/8" x 4-1/4" flat oval steel tubing. The wide, rounded profile provides a substantial gate surface around bulls and broncs while maintaining the strength required for repeated rough stock use.
The rolling center gates are filled with Shelby extruded composite lumber, helping reduce noise while livestock is in the chute and the rider is preparing for the ride.
Each rolling center gate rides on a heavy-duty V-groove wheel positioned over a 1-1/4" square structural tube with a 3/16" wall, set on a diamond. This design creates a strong, smooth-rolling gate while helping prevent dirt and arena debris from interfering with gate operation.
Roller guides are positioned at the bottom of the chute, leaving the chute-to-chute walkway free of an overhead track or protrusion. The front release gate uses a spring-loaded latch designed to open smoothly even when pressure is being applied against the gate.
One of the BC200's distinctive features is its inward-opening exit door. In addition to opening normally for competition, the door can swing into the chute when needed to apply pressure when training young or junior bulls.
Every BC200 includes an attached 2' 10" x 8' 3" catwalk that folds up for easier transport. Stairs are included with the first BC200 Bucking Chute. The chute, gates, catwalk, and stairs are powder coated, with black doors, catwalk, and stairs paired with silver arches.

BC200 Bucking Chutes are available in both Left Delivery and Right Delivery configurations. "Delivery" refers to the side of the animal that faces the arena when the animal is loaded with its head positioned at the hinged end of the release gate.
Left Delivery: The animal's left side faces the arena.
Right Delivery: The animal's right side faces the arena.
Choosing the correct delivery is important when planning the orientation of your bucking chutes, back pens, and arena. If you're building your first rough stock setup and aren't sure which delivery you need, Red River Arenas can help you determine the correct configuration for your facility.
The BC200 can be used as a single bucking chute or expanded with Add-On Bucking Chutes to create a multiple-chute setup. Each Add-On creates an additional bucking chute, allowing more than one animal to be loaded and ready during an event, practice, or training session. For example, one BC200 with one Add-On creates a two-chute setup, while one BC200 with two Add-Ons creates a three-chute setup. Additional chutes can be added as needed to build a larger connected run. Add-On Bucking Chutes are available for both Left Delivery and Right Delivery setups and must match the delivery direction of the BC200 they are connected to.

Building a complete rough stock setup requires more than bucking chutes. Red River Arenas offers heavy-duty handling equipment designed to direct, separate, and temporarily hold livestock as they move through the chute loading area, arena, and stripping or rigging areas.
Rough Stock L Sections, Rigging Panel Sets, and Alley Slides can be used with Red River Arenas BC200 Bucking Chutes and complete rough stock arena layouts. The Alley Slide may also be incorporated into cattle working systems where controlled livestock separation is needed within an alley.
The Rough Stock L Section creates the turn needed to direct bulls and broncs from the livestock alley toward the bucking chute loading area. Its L-shaped design helps guide rough stock through the change in direction while maintaining a confined, sheeted pathway.
Constructed from 2" square 14-gauge steel tubing, galvanized sheet metal, and Schedule 40 pipe components, the Rough Stock L Section weighs approximately 380 lbs. It is available separately or packaged with a BC200 Bucking Chute.
Red River Arenas Rough Stock Rigging Panel Sets create a heavy-duty sheeted working area where rodeo personnel can prepare bulls and broncs before a ride and remove rigging after the animal exits the arena. These sets are also commonly used as rough stock stripping chutes or as heavy-duty sheeted alleys.
The lower sheeted sections include working openings that allow personnel to access the animal from outside the alley. Rigging Panel Sets are available in 8' and 10' lengths and include two opposing rigging panels and two Rough Stock Alley Slides. The complete 10' set weighs approximately 800 lbs.
The Rough Stock Alley Slide provides separation and livestock control within alleys and confined working areas. Before the bucking chutes, it can be used to separate livestock as animals approach the loading area. On the exit side of the arena, it can temporarily hold an animal within a confined rigging or stripping area.
The Alley Slide may also be incorporated into cattle working systems where additional separation is needed within an alley. Built from heavy steel components, the Rough Stock Alley Slide weighs approximately 240 lbs. and operates on V-groove caster rollers.
